Beech Bottom is a small town situated in Brooke County, West Virginia, in the United States. According to the 2010 census, the population of Beech Bottom was 523. It is located on the west bank of the Ohio River, between the towns of Wellsburg and Follansbee. The town was founded in the early 19th century and was named after the abundance of beech trees in the area. The primary industries of Beech Bottom are coal mining and steel production. Beech Bottom is home to Beech Bottom Primary School and the Beech Bottom Volunteer Fire Department. The town is also home to the Beech Bottom Industrial Park, which hosts a number of businesses and industries. Beech Bottom offers access to the Ohio River via a public boat ramp and fishing pier, and the area is popular for boating, fishing, and other water sports.
